What does it do?

The Squaretest plugin for IntelliJ IDEA allows you to automatically generate the boilerplate code required for your Java unit tests.

Why do we need it?

Creating a unit-test class for a Java class requires writing a fair amount of boilerplate code. This takes 5-10 minutes. Squaretest can generate a lot of this code automatically and thus save the developer time.

Software developers who write Java code

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

Squaretest generates code required to instantiate the source-class and initialize its dependencies. It lets the user customize test-class generation with an Apache Velocity template and also detects common code-patterns in the source-class.

Squaretest is currently in public beta. I’m collecting feedback and prioritizing feature requests at the moment.
