People want to be informed quickly and choose when to engage (aka, get bombarded by ads) news stories online. Because skmmr is a web app, there’s nothing to download. Users can skim the news from over 100 global news sources.

Anyone who wants the reliability of the best news sources in a social media style scrolling feed. skmmr has news from many categories, such as: general, business, financial, tech, sports, international, and more.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

skmmr combines social media-sized chunks of news without the commentary from social platform “friends.” It’s also ad-free, mobile-friendly, and requires no download or account. It’s just the news, but better.

What’s next?

The app is in version 2. Lots of changes have been made to the UI. The next big change will come in the search function. The search API looks through 30,000+ blogs and news sites. The new skmmr search will help refine those results.
