Pingwheel is a free platform that helps users make local friends with common interests. We instantly highlight your shared interests with anyone, in any city. After you set up a profile, Pingwheel uses your information to search and rank.

Who is it for?

Pingwheel’s targeted demographic is users between ages 18-30, which is the most highly mobile and transient age group.Thirty percent of all individuals in their 20s move to a new city every year and are forced to start over.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

Pingwheel is unique in two ways: we function as search engine by finding locals with common interests (like college alumni, fraternity brothers and ballet enthusiasts), and we personalize interactions by instantly highlighting and ranking

What’s next?

Our goals for 2016 include finishing the two remaining phases of our web app, as well as developing of our API and mobile app by Spring 2016. By the end of 2016, our goal is to have over 1 million users with high monthly growth.
