Pitch for Notification Hyperlink Service

Company / App Name: Notification Hyperlink Service

https://play.google.com/store/notificationhyperlinkservice

What does it do?

Scans all incoming notifications for URLs. If it finds a URL, it scans it using Google’s Safe Browsing lookup then creates another notification that opens the link directly in the browser.

Why do we need it?

Saves you from having to open the originating app first, just to click the link and be redirected to the browser. Also helps keep you safe by scanning your links through Google’s API.

Who is it for?

All Android users, both technical and non-technical.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

Few, if any, apps provide this same service for Android. It is lightweight and easy to set up, and usually you won’t even notice that it is there. When you receive a notification containing a URL, however, it really saves you time.

What’s next?

A dedicated settings page to manage options.
May possibly refactor and open-source my wrapper for Google’s Safe Browsing Lookup API.
