What does it do?

Mr.Potter is an eco-fashion startup designing, handcrafting and hand-painting ceramic accessories for men and women. By blending nature with experimental fashion art and creativity, Mr. Potter collections of ceramic bow ties, braces and collars have introduced this whole new concept of wearable artworks into the fashion industry. With labs set in the medieval towns of Napoli and Salerno, Mr. Potter creations are the result of bizzarre collaborations with local artists and craftsmen. The astonishing degree of detail and authenticity is obtained with the employment of rare and ancient techniques handed down generation by generation and still unknown to the mass-industry. Values are also at the heart of the brand philosophy. Each design is inspired by unconventional ideas, moments, experiences and moods and the brand constantly updates its blog “Quit the box” (http://mrpotterstore.com/blogs/quit-the-box)with the aim to spread more awareness towards a change in the fashion industry.

Why do we need it?

In a TED talk we watched recently, Christina Dean (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cduGLWhm1LM ) says that we are what we wear and we totally back up THAT statement in THAT speech. Fashion is one of the biggest industry in the world and unfortunately most of the things we wear cause damage to our ecosystem in some way or other. Ceramic is a totally eco-friendly material… it comes streight from the Earth and when its use is over it returns to it. Ceramic is light, beautiful, practical and incredibly resistant… it can take a wide variety of shapes and forms and it is just a shame that the Fashion Industry got to use feathers, leathers and other sick materials and never thought of a much more sustainable but equally precious material such as ceramics.
Who is it for?

Art belongs to whoever loves it! However if you ask for the perfect Mr. Potter wearer, I would say someone between 18 and 40 who love getting noticed as much as staying true to himself/herself. Our vision is jeans, blazer, sneaker and Mr. Potter, but ultimately we realised that the shiny touch of our creations pretty much suits every outfit… it’s just a matter of design.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

It’s all about materials, detail, authenticity and values.

What’s next?

Wooow… loads and loads of things. At the moment we are working on a multitude of other shapes and garments as well as on revising and refining our business model to adapt to the needs of different international markets. . The pipeline is very overcrowded at the moment and our enthusiasm doesn’t really help to streamline it . However, we will launch our spring/summer collection in the next few months… so stay tuned, the best is yet to come 😀
