What does it do?

Smartcar is the car API for developers. It allows apps to communicate with cars using HTTP requests. Our API works with without aftermarket hardware, letting developers locate, unlock, and read the odometer from cars of 13 brands.

Why do we need it?

Software is the automotive industry’s driver of progress, and we’re frustrated that there is no easy way for developers to build apps that work with vehicles. We want to empower developers to build the future of mobility.

Who is it for?

Our target user are developers who work at companies that build mobility apps. Our customers range from early-stage startups to large enterprises and from peer-to-peer car sharing marketplaces to mobile car wash apps.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

Smartcar is the first and only API for cars that is open to all developers and compatible across multiple car brands. Some car brands let developers use their proprietary APIs, but getting permission is a long and costly process.
