What does it do?

re:search is a search engine that allows users to easily conduct broader, deeper research with no clutter, no ads, and absolute privacy. Users just enter their query once and can search a variety of sources with a single click.

Why do we need it?

re:search makes online research more efficient by focusing results to EDU, GOV, etc and by topic (Health, Food, etc). In addition, we allow you to preview web pages before opening them and directly search external sites (NYTimes, CNN, etc).

Who is it for?

Our target audiences are those that would find use in a thorough, simpler online search (students, educators, lawyers, journalists, medical professionals, etc). As well as those that wish to have a new search experience from Google or Bing.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

We stand out by offering the ease of use to search EDU, GOV, PDF, etc. as well as allowing to search by topic (ie. Health, Food, and Legal). Also, our preview function is one not implemented by other search engines. We also do not have ads!

What’s next?

We are planning on adding an option for users to make their own custom channels/topics. We will add an option for users to auto-cite sources through either Zotero or EasyBib. We may offer a small “research packet” based on a search query.
