What does it do?

Webtomap lets users post content about any topic they like on a Google map. It’s like blogging on a map. To search for specific topics, the category structure and search function can be used. People can signup with Twitter, Facebook etc.

Why do we need it?

There are many Google maps services available on the web, but many of them are not very interactive. Webtomap is a new service that makes maps more interactive and lets users post their photos, videos and articles on a public Google map.

Who is it for?

For people that produce location specific content. Some examples are: Bloggers, Photographers and video artists. Other users may include people who just want to know what people are posting about their town or region.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

Webtomap is different from Google maps, because people can post about virtually anything and can discuss it with anybody. It’s the most free and open maps service around.

What’s next?

First I want to build a sizable community around the service. The I want to build a more complete search function to help users find the stuff they need.
