shortcutFoo, and it’s a webapp to help developers learn shortcut keys for editors (Vim, Emacs, TextMate, Visual Studio, etc). By performing drills and practicing typing the shortcuts, programmers increase their efficiency with editors.

Why do we need it?

Shortcuts are notoriously hard to learn, especially with editors like Vim and Emacs. By using this app, the learning curve is much easier and the shortcuts become engrained in your head.

Who is it for?

ShortcutFoo is for programmers, but is totally customizable and can be changes to work with any type of software that uses shortcut keys.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

ShortcutFoo can train a user through in browser drills. Stats are tracked and thus the user can learn all of the shortcuts quickly.

What’s next?

ShortcutFoo will expand to other areas including photoshop, command line commands, and many other areas where learning shortcuts increases efficiency.
