What does it do?
Rex is a native iOS mobile app based on two principles: who recommends a restaurant matters, and typing and reading on a tiny screen sucks. Recommend a restaurant with a tap. Follow people you trust to see their recommendations.
Why do we need it?
The current review system is untrustworthy and not mobile-friendly. Typing and reading on a small screen mobile device is cumbersome and uncomfortable. 20% of Yelp reviews are fake and reviews from strangers are time-consuming to verify.
Who is it for?
Rex is for anyone who likes to find and recommend good food fast, without scrolling through reviews or typing on a small screen.
What makes it stand out from the crowd?
Instead of a written review, we focus on who makes a recommendation instead of how many reviews a person has written or how descriptive they are. A recommendation from a friend is more trustworthy than many recommendations from strangers.

Right now we’re in beta, and we’re scheduled for release in fall 2014.
