Otakujam is a new social network aimed at helping geeks connect with other geeks both online and off. It has entered open beta on 5/27/14 and is seeking testers to help suggest new features and test existing features.

Why do we need it?

It combines features from some of the best social network sites such as hashtags and mentions from twitter, groups from facebook, and local meetups and events from meetup.com. It takes the best features of these and geekifys them.

Who is it for?

Geeks who want to find online friends or offline activity partners or dates who share their geeky interests.

What makes it stand out from the crowd?

The site’s main feature is Otaku Match which is a matchmaking script that allows users to search for other geeks based on the information included in their profiles.

What’s next?

Ability to watch streaming anime videos and integration with Steam API to display your games and achievements.
