What does it do?

Fluentli is a community language learning experience. We believe you should be able to start speaking a language from day 1, and that you’re learning to say what you want to say, when you need to say it.

We do this in the form of Q&A with audio. Anyone can ask a question about the best way to communicate something, and get written and audio answers from native speakers or those fluent in the language.

Why do we need it?

Asking a computer for a translation is a start… but usually very far from accurate. Asking people how to communicate something will always be better because they can see the situation and the context, think of other examples, give exceptions to the rules, and much more. Community is all about benefiting from the cumulative knowledge we all have to offer. Furthermore, everyone learning a language has the ability to turn around immediately and offer the same help in their own language. Textbooks and courses are usually far too focused on a market that the language they teach is too narrow. It is my goal with Fluentli to help people create their own language learning curriculum, being led to learn the things they really need to communicate.

We care about becoming the most helpful and friendly community for language learners. We believe the power of community is our differences, and the fact that we all have something to contribute to someone else’s learning. It feels great to help and give back. We believe if we attract more likeminded people, Fluentli will become the number one place people want to spend their time looking for help in learning their foreign language.
