What does it do?
A new, free application from Greenstream Publishing will allow users to choose the most environmentally friendly and cost effective time to plug in their chosen appliance, and see where their electricity is sourced from.
Why do we need it?
Another feature will allow the user to check the carbon footprint of using a particular appliance at any given time. As well as the environmental benefits, significant savings on electricity bills may be made.
Who is it for?
Electricity consumers interested in the environmental implications of their usage and in cost effective ways to use energy.
What makes it stand out from the crowd?
Written in-house, the app is based on exclusive data from the National Grid, and has not been replicated elsewhere. Users can see exactly where their energy is sourced from at any one time.
What’s next?
Following the release of eCO2, Greenstream are currently developing a version of the app with features aimed specifically at EV drivers, and a solar PV application is also scheduled for release in May.
